In the mornings, we’ll dive into concepts like composition, the quality of light, storytelling, capturing decisive moments, and more. These foundational skills can be applied across various photographic genres, including street, portrait, abstract, and beyond. In the afternoons, we’ll explore Boston’s vibrant streets and landmarks, putting theory into practice with your camera.
Learn how to uncover where “the photo lives” in an urban landscape while receiving expert instruction both in the classroom and on location from 2x Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Essdras M. Suarez.

Day I
Morning Session:
- A two-hour classroom session focusing on Street Photography concepts and “The Art of Seeing.”
- Topics include composition, quality of light, storytelling, and when to use telephoto vs. wide-angle lenses.

Day II
Morning Session:
- A two-hour classroom session reinforcing Street Photography concepts and “The Art of Seeing.”

Day III
Morning Session:
- A two- to three-hour photo walk in Boston’s historic North End.
